Join lighting design experts James Benya and Deborah Burnett for this fast-paced multimedia presentation examining the health effects of daylight and darkness, as well as the consequences of living in a world full of windowless spaces, light-based electronic devices and 24/7 activity. Attendees will gain the tools and understanding to create circadian-friendly indoor environments that promote health, healing and cognitive function while enhancing energy efficiency. This lecture series honors the memory of former CLTC Program Director Don Aumann, and his visionary outlook in the field of energy efficiency. The program is graciously supported by many within the lighting community who appreciated Mr. Aumann’s commitment, contributions, and enthusiasm, and is sponsored in part by PG&E and the Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) program of the California Energy Commission. 



James R. Benya, FIES, FIALD, PE has won over 200 lighting design awards, including the Edison Award and International Illumination Design Award of Excellence. He has over 38 years' experience in architectural lighting design.

Deborah Burnett, ASID, CMG, LGC is a licensed interior designer and general contractor with over 32 years of experience. She is recognized as an international expert in health and epigenetic design principles.
