Bi-Level LED Parking Lot Fixture |
Research and development of the Bi-Level LED Parking Lot Fixture, pictured below, stemmed from activities in the PIER-funded HID Bi-Level Smart Fixture. While working with the manufacturing partner, CLTC will evaluate control scenarios, visual quality, photometric analysis, and human factors through initial installation and use. - The system is designed to give full light output during occupied periods, but operates in an energy-saving "low" mode when motion is not detected.
- This system saves 50 percent of energy use during unoccupied "low" mode periods compared to occupied periods, while maintaining 30 percent light levels
The new Bi-Level LED fixture is currently being demonstrated at CSU, Sacramento. This will allow for an ongoing utility evaluation funded by Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). | | | | | | Bi-Level LED parking lot fixture on high-mode during occupied period | | Bi-Level LED parking lot fixture in low-mode, saves 50 percent energy | | CLTC fabrication lab developing the LED fixture
