LUÍS LOMELINO FERNANDES, PH.D
Research Engineer
Luís Lomelino Fernandes is a Research Engineer at CLTC. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Lic. Eng. in Physics Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal. His main research interests are daylighting, energy efficiency in buildings and visual comfort. As a graduate student he developed a technique for optimizing the optical properties of daylighting systems. He was subsequently involved, at LBNL, in research focused on how to control façade systems in order to deliver lighting energy savings. He has also consulted for architectural projects and been involved in university education in the field of building science.
