CLTC offers undergraduate lighting courses through the University of California, Davis. Taught by CLTC faculty and staff, the courses are held on site at the center. A hands-on approach with lighting and daylighting technologies is used, and includes lectures, demonstrations, and site visits.

These studio development classes have been structured in cooperation with the lighting manufacturing industry and we intend to continue and expand this effort to include multiple technologies and lighting application areas. The industry benefits from this close cooperation through the exchange of design and technology ideas, potential for commercialization and ultimately in supporting the development of future lighting designers and engineers.

This type of cooperative partnership with the industry forms the unique essence of the lighting technology center and we are very pleased with the level of industry interest and sponsorship of the lighting educational activities at Davis.
