The Lighting Portal provides an online resource for current activities, research, design, codes, issues and challenges, as well as new technologies in the lighting and daylighting industry.

UC/CSU PIER Demonstrations

The goal of the UC/CSU PIER Demonstration Project is to promote new energy efficient technologies throughout the UC and CSU systems and to encourage the knowledge of energy savings and maintenance benefits achieved through retrofitting the vast number of fixtures on their campuses.

California Community College PIER Demonstration

The goal of the California Community College (CCC) PIER Demonstration Project is to promote new energy efficient technologies throughout the CCC system.

Bi-Level LED Parking Lot Fixture

Research and development of the Bi-Level LED Parking Lot Fixture stemmed from activities in the PIER-funded HID Bi-Level Smart Fixture. The demonstration of this fixture at CSU, Sacramento is a utility evaluation.

Demonstration, Measurement & Verification

Demonstration projects are intended to promote emerging energy-efficient technologies. They may also be monitored and assessed for performance and user satisfaction while on display.
