LED Life Testing

CLTC will characterize LED lumen deprication and color shift over a period of 8 months at multiple ambient temperatures. Activities will include:

  • Development of a testing protocol based on the IESNA’s draft protocol for lumen depreciation in solid state LED lighting
  • Design and development of three testing chambers that will maintain specified ambient temperatures throughout the test period (Freezer case temperature, refrigerator case temperature, and room temperature)
  • Design of a data acquisition system to monitor ambient temperature, total lumen output, and spectral power distribution throughout the test period
