CEC awards Bosch-led team $2.8 million to demonstrate commercial-scale energy grid, including lighting and controls

03/18/2015

Bosch—The California Energy Commission has announced a proposed award to Robert Bosch LLC for $2,817,566 to demonstrate a high-penetration, renewable-based microgrid. With this award, Bosch will demonstrate the effectiveness of its Direct-Current Building-Scale Microgrid Platform (Bosch DC microgrid) in an American Honda Motor Co., Inc., parts distribution center. The project is designed to illustrate the viability and benefits of a commercial-scale DC building grid compared with conventional AC-based grid connected solar photovoltaic (PV) systems or microgrids.

UC Davis News and Information—As ambulances at a Vacaville hospital speed off to their next patient, an ultrasmart, energy-efficient system is lighting the way. Installed in partnership with the University of California, Davis, the lighting system now illuminates the emergency vehicle routes, parking lots and outdoor walkways of the NorthBay VacaValley Hospital. The system is reducing outdoor lighting energy use at the 24-hour site by 66 percent, saving about 29,000 kilowatt-hours annually -- enough to offset the greenhouse gas emissions of 7.2 tons of waste.

LED Lamp Project Lights the Way to Flicker-Free Replacement

05/15/2014

Jade Sky Technologies (“JST”) collaborated with UC Davis's California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) on a project designed to further the development of replacement lamps that meet the Voluntary California Quality LED Lamp Specification. Lab testing and characterization at CLTC showed that lamps incorporating JST's driver architecture met, or exceeded, the California Quality specification, using cost-effective and easily accessible components.

Seoul Semiconductor and LEDLab Team Up with CLTC, UC Davis for 10th Annual Luminaire Design Competition
