Daylighting

Effective integration of daylighting with electric lighting enhances the aesthetic appeal of interior spaces while benefitting occupants in terms of health, visual comfort and cognitive function. Daylight harvesting also improves energy efficiency while reducing peak electricity demand. But unlike electric lighting, daylight changes continuously as a function of geographic location, season, time of day, and weather conditions, posing its own unique set of challenges. CLTC works with its affiliate partners to improve fenestration, photosensor technologies, lighting controls, and other means of bringing daylight indoors while minimizing unwanted heat gain and maximizing energy efficiency.
