Cooper – Cooper Lighting, a division of Cooper Industries, Ltd. announces that its Halo LED recessed downlight is the first in the industry to meet stringent ENERGY STAR requirements for solid state lighting (SSL) luminaires. ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping consumers and organizations save money and protect the environment through energy-efficient products and practices.
Christie Communications – UC Davis has been a leader in the movement toward energy sustainability for the past few years, and on June 22, 2009 they will be awarded the Energy Efficiency Partnership Program, 2009 Best Practice Award for their parking garage lighting design retrofit. The Facilities Management program at UC Davis will be presented the award at the UC/CSU/CCC Sustainability Conference at UC Santa Barbara.

CLTC – The California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC), a research, development, and demonstration facility at the University of California, Davis, has installed more than 100 demonstrations of energy-efficient lighting since the Center’s inception in 2004. The wide range of demonstrations has been installed at University of California, California State University, California Community College campuses, and state and federal buildings throughout California in an effort to prove energy-efficient technology and report the findings to the public through case studies.
The Lighting Quotient – The Lighting Quotient establishes its presence as a manufacturer of LED lighting fixtures, demonstrating the viability and power of LED lighting for architectural applications. CPUC – The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) adopted a plan to transform the lighting market and achieve a 60-80 percent reduction in statewide electrical lighting energy consumption. This plan will be a new chapter of the California Long Term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan.

Cree – Cree, Inc., a market leader in LED lighting, announces that the 120V LMR4TM LED module has achieved California Title 24 registration, helping OEM lighting manufacturers meet California’s rigorous energy efficiency standards and helping them to quickly enter the LED lighting market with fixtures based on the industry-leading Cree TrueWhiteTM Technology or Cree EasyWhiteTM solution. Cree is also extending the warranty on its LMR4 LED module family to five years to further accelerate the LED Lighting Revolution.
Lutron – Light control manufacturer Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. promotes the use of its technologies that are used in many whole building and whole home lighting systems in an effort to fill the gaps that exist between utilities and their customers in the burgeoning Smart Grid demand response arena.
