CLTC is partnering with Bosch to demonstrate the Bosch Direct Current Building-Scale Microgrid Platform (DCBMP) at an American Honda Motor Co., Inc. warehouse facility. Bosch will demonstrate the effectiveness of the DCBMP, a commercial-scale DC building microgrid that integrates advanced technologies to provide reliable power to the connected loads, resilience during grid outages, increased building energy efficiency and renewable energy utilization.
Bosch—The California Energy Commission has announced a proposed award to Robert Bosch LLC for $2,817,566 to demonstrate a high-penetration, renewable-based microgrid. With this award, Bosch will demonstrate the effectiveness of its Direct-Current Building-Scale Microgrid Platform (Bosch DC microgrid) in an American Honda Motor Co., Inc., parts distribution center. The project is designed to illustrate the viability and benefits of a commercial-scale DC building grid compared with conventional AC-based grid connected solar photovoltaic (PV) systems or microgrids.
EMerge Alliance – The EMerge Alliance is an open industry association leading the rapid adoption of safe, low-voltage direct-current (DC) power distribution and use in commercial building interiors announced it has added 15 more companies to its coalition. Now more than 60-members strong, the Alliance continues to gain the support of building industry and technology leaders in a collaborative effort to bring greater energy efficiency and sustainability to new and existing facilities.
EMerge Alliance – The EMerge Alliance, an open industry association leading the rapid adoption of safe direct-current (DC) power distribution standards for commercial buildings, announced it formed the Task Level/Furnishings workgroup to create a standard bringing DC power directly to the desktop.
