Last week, the City of Davis announced it has entered into the final phase of its city-wide, outdoor lighting system upgrade!  New luminaires are compliant with the outdoor LED lighting guidelines recently published by the American Medical Association and they feature onboard occupancy sensing technology, which automatically controls light levels based on the presence of pedestrians or vehicles in the area.  More light is provided when someone is using the space and light levels are reduced during vacant periods.

This progressive lighting project will deliver deep energy savings, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and a healthier spectral nighttime environment.

Many thanks to the City of Davis for collaborating with CLTC and implementing best practices in their outdoor lighting!
