CLTC is pleased to announce the availability of our updated Lighting Best Practices Guides! These guides serve as valuable resources for builders and professionals in the lighting industry as they navigate California's 2022 Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Part 6 or Energy Code), which went into effect on January 1, 2023.
The guides provide a comprehensive explanation of the requirements for residential and nonresidential lighting as well as electrical power distribution. They also provide detailed recommendations for best practices, complete with sample lighting plans. Additionally, the updated guides feature information on the latest lighting technologies, energy-efficient lighting strategies, and lighting design principles.
Developed by the California Lighting Technology Center at UC Davis in collaboration with the California Energy Commission, these Lighting Best Practice Guides complement the California Energy Commission's Compliance Manual. They are a valuable resource for those seeking to expand their knowledge in lighting, alongside the educational offerings on lighting provided by Pacific Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison.
